Former New Jersey Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli won a Republican primary election on June 8 for the chance to run for governor in the Garden State. He will face New Jersey's current governor, Gov. Phil Murphy, a Democrat, in the gubernatorial election on Nov. 2, 2021.

Ciattarelli beat Brian Levine, Philip Rizzo and Hirsh Singh in the election on June 8. Levine was the mayor of Franklin Township in New Jersey. Rizzo and Singh have never held political office: Rizzo is a pastor and Singh is an engineer.
